Aloof; meaning conspicuously uninvolved and uninterested, typically through distaste. Remote, reserved, reticent, indifferent..
I have reached the stage where my life is so simple, the tolerance and care is actually diminished. Things that excite and bother people/society have no influence on me. I don't fuss or fret. Never embarrassed or easily annoyed. I'm super cool-headed (growing up being stubborn around my overly strict miserable mum). People may say bad things about you to people who don't know you, they form impression sand the cycle goes on.
Opinions of people that I care about only matter. If I don't know you, your opinion doesn't matter to me. Like my old manager.. she once said, "you are a nice smart guy but when people see your raggedy unkempt hair, they would think the worst, you should carry yourself not as an undesirable but as a person of standard". I'm comfortable with my appearance in all aspects, people may get bothered or be offended but I care not.
Back to the simpleness, week in week out for me it's the same stable circuit. Work and weekends.
Pay the rent, buy food stuffs, listen music, watch movies. Internet research. Entertain my companion. (cinema or dinner now and then)
No worries, drama, stress. One would say, go out party, socialize with friends. Fulfill your life.. what not. I just don't have that interest outside my seemingly basic activities/hobbies...
Meaning I could stay in an entire weekend, Friday night to Monday morn' and not even peek outside for sunshine and I am HAPPY. I don't have to go out and dress to impress anyone. Have my food and computer and I'm satisfied. This society and the ideals of false fake-ness.... The ultmitate goal, I think in this (bajan) life is to study, work, get your home/car, maybe family, settle and retire. Be comfortable. Well yes I would like to own my home, but at 40,000/year salary, one might need a mortgage (as I have been advised to do many times). I have in mind a dream of a hermit lifestyle. Living apart from society but comfortable and observing.
Life is what you make it, innit
