Pop's gone slow

Whats up with these dance-pop singers going slow. Doing ballads.
Katy Perry singing "thinking of you"
Lady Gaga - "no floods"
Madonna - "miles away"
P!nk - "please don't leave me"
Miley Cyrus - "these four walls"

Heavens forbid, is Britney next?
but what can I say, they're all beautiful songs, as is "halo" by Beyonce. These recent slow songs are inspiring me to do a mix of very casual alternative lovey-dovey tunes. The build/selection iscurrently 13 songs strong.

Btw congrats to Weezy [newlilwayne.com] on his 3 Grammy wins, but umm rock? I reckon his next album might not do well. Maybe it'll sell 500,000 copies, but if it sells like Carter 3, I'd be flipping surprised!

+ Mr. Small, Malcolm never again you call pop-rock punk-rock. Do you really think "rockstar" by Miley is punk? hmmph I hope this was a slight mistake as I really believe you do a lot for MixFm.

the-bands

Putting a spin on the names of bands/gropus beginning with "the"

the click five_together with the four tops and the three degrees form the last town chorus. But this is only when the jets visit the manhattans, eat the cars and the stylistics transform into the ting tings.
the all american rejects_often do shows with the get-up kids
the calling_didn't hear when The Edgar Winter Group told them "frankenstein" was coming. As a result, the hazzards happened.
the disco boys_and the jones girls are very known in the hamptons
the hoosiers_got the temptations which made them visit the subway[s]
the finalist_of the classic hiphop game called the roots was the gap band. 2nd place was the lox. followed by the pharcyde.
the elected_usually have to sign the word before the new year contracts run out.
the melodians_lost their sweet singing voices after trying the crystal method. this caused the dopler effect of the pogues.
the iconoclasts_and the brand new heavies always have the clash of the beat!
the lost trailers_, the mooney suzuki and the sonics were the main buying interest in the mac project.
if the air-bourne toxic event happens, we may have to take the alternate routes.
the ataris_after playing for four hours you get the big sleep where you dream of the darkness.

there are bands after food...the cranberries [they had that song about "zombie"s] and the black eyed peas. add the the sugar cubes and you've got a recipe that the raconteurs might like. serve with one g.l.o.w of the smashing pumpkin[s]
the corrs_believed to be named after the lager

the hives_yes you can get hives in finland but don't worry there's always the cure.
the duhks_ok so they spelt ducks wrong however, I like that they were "out of the rain"
the fray_makes me think about frayed string, isn't it funny how, one of  their biggest hits was "how to save a life"
the herd_how appropriate a title for an aussie band
the pussy cat dolls_after they grew up, they became the scientists of the prodigy. Also known in other areas as the rock heroes.
the killers_and the police [who are the good guys] are almost always at war!
the kooks_is it "naive" to spell words wronge?
the potbelleez_never knew the pointer sisters were modeled after the used. This is why they automatically answered no to the question.
the notwist_no twisting or knot twist?
the penfifteen club_sounds like a place where "mrs wilson's" husband might go for a smoke.
the rasmus_used as a light whenever you find yourself "in the shadows"
the script_used by all the film makers, followed as much as possible, to break even at the box office or even profit.
the red jumpsuit apparatus_by far, one of the most creative names. this is also what you've got to wear when getting ready for a rocket summer. the ones with the white stripes have the hardest buttons to button.

of course human names aren't left out when groups form, we've got the smiths, the veronicas and the o'jays
the streets_are full of empty cans
the scorpions_after your'e stung you suffer from the strokes
the zutons_tribe of aliens straight outta space. the offspring is called the androids.
now i'm finished as i have to go fix the spill canvas messed up by the blue man group.

Got the idea for this after staring at my iTunes library for ages!

films I've seen for the year [1]

All big screen [in the cinema]

Soulmen
Was barely OK, nuff said. [rip bernie mac], If I had to rate out of 10, I would have to give 6.

Punisher: War Zone [twice]
I liked. Gun action much?
Best line; "who punishers the punisher"
Best scene; when the Punisher blows the guy jumping from one building to the next straight into nothings with a huge rocket launcher...Got the most crowd response in the cinema! 8.5

Taken
Liam Neelson is a brilliant actor, what can I say [he's got skills!] that's a pun btw. Loved how the film gave an insight into human trafficking in Europe. Holly Valance played a diva!. 7.5

7 Pounds
Nifty suspense-filled drama-like thriller. Will Smith plays a caring donor who seeks random less-fortunate persons to help. This, a result after causing his wife's death and I presume six others in an accident. Eyes, heart, kidney, bone marrow and house are given. A sad film with a little romance. 7.5

Yes Man
I thought was going to be a corny comedy, but twas actually funnier than I expected. Shows what happens when one says yes to everything without thinking about the consequences. The starring actress had a kinda kay perry image about her. The characters of Vernush and the immature loan boss were interesting. The director made a very slight appearance in the end. There was a lyric that stood out somewhere in the middle "I'm not a booty call, don't call me after 11, you might call me at 10.59 but not 11." 6.5

Splinter

Recieved a good response from the audience..Shows that low-budget, indie-like films can cause reaction. Maybe there's a sequel, as the splinter creature was shown to have twitched just before the credits. Don't you just love how most films nowadays introduce the "maybe a sequel" scene in such subtle ways..
Best scenes; the detached hand walking around in the gas station store and Seth [with his temperature around 8o degrees] making his way to the patrol car. Nice Acting! 8

Sex Drive
The funniest of this group. Well written and directed. Guy steals his brother's car to meet a chick he met online, halfway across the country. Meets amish people and gets arrested on the way. All in the hope of losing his virginity. Seth Green played a sarcastic Amish. James Mardsen was the jock-like big brother [licence plate read NOFATCHX] who turned out to be gay and Fall Out Boy made an appearance. Josh Zuckerman, Clark Duke and Amanda Crew were the main actors. Neat! Can't forget the lovely Alice Greczyn. Rumspringa YEAY! 8.5

Next up, Twilight, Transporter 3, Marley And Me and Underworld: ROTL
I would love to see "Moon" read a lot about it at Sundance this year. Also, the much acclaimed "Curious Case of Benjamin Button" which might take away all the Academy awards for 2009.

In 2009

+mine
there has been a lack of presence. [49 days]. Evidently busy_ness has been extremely time consuming...priorities were set and followed [somewhat].

Now in two thousand and nine, I strive to let what is written in these posts to be of a certain maturity. Of course there will always be, something or the other to bring a smile to readers' faces. No more horrendously long jumbled posts....and less long irregular titles.

People speak of resolutions. [what exactly are those things?] I translate "las resolutiones" to; personal goals..of which I've made some;
read more [novels, popular lifestyle magazines of every month]
hit the beach at least 3rice\month
be of an even more optimistic nature
continue tertiary education [spanish especially]
be less amicable but help where i can
have "me" time
consume less sodas but use more wine
just 'some' as i said..
The above was written while listening to Craig David's Greatest Hits compilation.
This sentence_track 12 [6 of 1 thing]

ON A SIDE NOTE
February [looks very neat on the roman calender], March and November of this year all have friday 13ths...how interesting....

Don't forget it's not practice which makes perfect but perfect practice.
